The 2015 calendar was the first in a series of fundraisers planned to finance the construction of a wood-fired kiln in the Western Massachusetts/North Quabbin area. We intend to provide community access to this special type of firing. “Firing a kiln with wood results in beautiful, unexpected designs on the pots,” remarked Lydia Grey, a founder of the Potters All Clay Guild. “It can take up to three days ’round the clock to fire a wood kiln — definitely a community project!”
The calendar features six Guild members and their art, posing in the woods of Wendell. Lovingly crafted, with photos by Trish Crapo, quotations to stir your artful soul, and images that celebrate the beauty of nature and the human body, the calendar is now available at various locations throughout the region.
